Semaglutide is the generic form of the drug commonly known as Ozempic®. It was originally used as a diabetes treatment, but has since shown impressive results in weight loss of non-diabetic patients. As part of our comprehensive weight loss program, Semaglutide facilitates weight-loss in the following ways:

• Decreases appetite and cravings

• Provides an earlier feeling of fullness and satiety

Our formulation also includes vitamin B12, which can boost energy and make adherence to an exercise program easier.

The program consists of several steps:

1. A telehealth appointment with one of our licensed providers to approve you for treatment. Bloodwork may be required if you have certain pre-existing health problems.

2. An initial 30-minute office visit that includes counseling on diet and nutrition, and your first injection.

3. Weekly 15-minute visits that include:

• Weigh In

• Symptom assessment

• Your weekly injection

All participants start at a dosage of 0.25mg. Dosages are increased every 1-4 weeks depending on the patient’s weight-loss response and side effects. The most common side effects are GI related such as nausea, stomach pain/cramping or diarrhea. While increasing your dosage, care will be taken to avoid any side effects. If side effects are experienced, you may need to stay at your current dose for several weeks, or possibly decrease your dosage. As tolerated, the dosage will be increased until you and your nurse are happy with the pace of your weight loss. The ideal weight loss rate is 1-2 lbs. per week. You can continue receiving Semaglutide as long as you have a telehealth re-evaluation every 20 weeks.
